Pat Nelson is president of Northwestern Court Reporters and Riverside Captioning Company. She founded Northwestern Court Reporters in 1973, two years after graduating. Pat continues to report and caption, working events as varied as stadium gatherings, satellite teleconferences, Webcasts and television. She has received two perfect show awards and is known in the captioning industry as an excellent writer.
Pat is a member of the National Court Reporters Association and the Wisconsin Court Reporters Association. She has served on a variety of boards, and is currently a member of the City of River Falls Police, Fire and Ambulance Commission.
Pat is a mother of four and a grandmother of four. Her daughter also is a court reporter and captioner employed by Northwestern Court Reporters. Pat is an avid runner, golfer and cross-country skier who lifts weights, bikes and walks to stay fit. Pat loves to travel, as well as read, cook and entertain. She also is a singer who takes part in a praise band at her church.
Pat is a Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), a Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR) and a Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC). She is a graduate of the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.
